Washim is the city in the district of Washim. It is also the municipal council of the district of Washim in the state of Maharashtra.

The district includes five tahsils namely Malegaon, Karanja, Risod, Mangrulpir and Manora, the tribal village. The two rivers which pass through the district of Washim are Aran and Penganag.
