The district is divided into three different zones based on the type of soil present there. The western zone of the Gadchiroli has a fertile soil, it is located on the banks of river Vainganga. The main forest areas in Gadchiroli are Dhanora, Etapalli, Korchi, Kurkheda, Bhamraged, Aheri, and Sironcha. These forests are rich in timber wood such as Tendoo, Ain, Dhavada, Teak, and Anjan. These forests also have a plethora of flora and fauna. Markandeshwar and Chaprala sanctuary are the other major tourist attractions.
